Interesting Links 18 October 2010

Well things are heating up with the Imagine Cup. Last week was the round one entry for the fall round of the game and Software Development invitational. Lots of teams have signed up but we will have a second round of sign ups in the late winter/early spring time. In the mean Dan Kasun has bee blogging about some of last year?s teams on their way to the White House! One of them a high school team!

And Gautam Reddy (@GautamReddy) had a new blog post: on the Imagine Cup IT Challenge - Imagine Cup IT Challenge Quiz puts you on path to success in 60 minutes ? The next round one quiz starts tonight at 8PM Eastern time. See Gautam?s post for your local time zone and more information.

Speaking of deadlines ? we are getting down to the wire on the Bing What does your school need? contest - a chance to win $1000,000 for your school. Please don?t miss out!

Pex For Fun keeps getting better and better. PexForFun lets students write and test code (Visual Basic, C# and F#) in a web browser. There are also code duels and challenges to test their knowledge and problem solving ability. Check out Teaching With Pex For Fun and the Social Classroom for some ideas about using Rex For Fun in your classroom.

Not surprisingly there was a lot of news about the new Windows Phone 7s with the announcement last week.

Two Kodu links. First Kodu Kamp for Educators - free workshop for Boston area teachers. Yes, I blogged that Friday but not all of you read this every day. Smile Also there is a 9 part series on creating your own Kodu Game at http://bit.ly/koduinvaders So if you are not in the Boston area you can still learn online. Good stuff ? free!

Last but not least, Mark Hindsbo (@mhindsbo) posted a link on Twitter to seven free eBooks on #.net development Free fits your budget right?
