Blog Post: SQL MCM Profile: Mike Weiner

Next on our SQL MCM profile series, meet Mike Weiner:

Mike Weiner, Program Manager - SQL Server Customer Advisory Team (SQLCAT), Microsoft. Mike Weiner is a Senior Program Manager working with Microsoft's high-end hardware partners and focusing on the SQL Server Engine as part of the Microsoft SQL Server Customer Advisory Team (SQLCAT). Mike has worked with SQL Server since SQL Server 6.5 when he was in a support role with Microsoft Customer Services and Support (CSS). Before joining the CAT team he spent seven years as a Dedicated Support Engineer at Microsoft working primarily in the large enterprise space and onsite with many financial services institutions.

A focus on many of projects he has worked on revolved around extreme high throughput and low latency transactional systems. Mike has worked with a number of very large (multi-terabyte) size databases and systems with critical high availability requirements. He has also worked with a number of projects focused on data distribution utilizing SQL Server Replication technologies. All combined he has over 12 years of experience working with enterprise customers on their SQL Server environments, both in troubleshooting and architecting.
